Health Impact Assessment

The HIA Connect website provides resources and infomation about health impact assessment (HIA). Health impact assessment:

• Assesses plans, projects, programs or policies before they are implemented;
• Predicts the health impacts of these proposals; and
• Recommends changes to maximise positive health impacts and minimise negative health impacts. (Health Impact Assessment: A Practical Guide)

About HIA Connect

HIA Connect was developed as part of the NSW HIA Project to support people to undertake HIAs. The site is maintained by the Centre for Health Equity Training, Research and Evaluation (CHETRE), part of the UNSW Research Centre for Primary Health Care and Equity at the University of New South Wales in Sydney, Australia.

CHETRE and the UNSW Research Centre for Primary Health Care and Equity provide secretariat support for the IUHPE Global Working Group on Health Impact Assessment.
